Week 16 or 16 weeks and 3 days

This was a hard month. It was so hard not knowing if the baby was still alive and growing. On Monday I had another appointment with Dr. Trites. I wasn't expecting too much except for a blood draw.

She did take some more blood for ANOTHER test for Down Syndrome and she also went over my results from the previous tests. Everything was very good EXCEPT for my Vitamin D level.

Apparently, the normal range of Vitamin D for adults is between 50-75. For pregnant women, it should be in the higher range of 65-75, mine was 30 or 32. So now I am taking 50,000 IUs of Vitamin D for 8 weeks to try and get my level up.

At the appointment on Monday she also used the Doppler to listen to the baby's heartrate. Phew, there is still a heartbeat, that's a relief.

The due date has changed again. According to Dr. Trites, the new one is September 12. I just hope the baby is late rather than early. I really do not want to have the baby on September 11. I guess it's not that bad as long as the baby is healrhy, right?

Week 15

I can't believe it. I am already 15 weeks pregnant as of today. This baby is growing so fast, even though you can't tell by looking at me. When you are counting the weeks, pregnancy seems to go so slow, but when you think about it overall, I am almost half way through. That is crazy to me, just 5 more months and Baby Bowling (a.k.a. Rasp or Wild Thing) will be joining John and I in our apartment.

We are getting so excited to be in our new apartment and have a place that we can call our own and begin nesting. We are sad that we are no longer going to be living with our friends Justin and Amy but we know we will see them again. It is just the right time for all of us to go our own ways.

I have my next appointment on Monday the 29th and I am really looking forward to it. I don't know what they are going to do to me, but I am sure it will include another blood test and hopefully an ultrasound. I know we have one scheduled to determine the sex of the baby on April 13 but that just seems like forever. We also have an appointment on that day to see Christy, the genetic counselor to go over testing options, prices and more information that she has researched for us. I am eager to hear what she has to say.

I really want to know if the baby is going to be a boy or a girl. I am desperate to start buying things for the nursery and for the baby (well, continue buying stuff). I have already purchased a couple of little outfits/rompers.

Tell me what you think I am having, boy or girl?
